WORLD YOUTH PARLIAMENT FOR WATER - REPRESENTATIVE OF THE NETHERLANDS AND COLOMBIA IN THE WORLD WATER FORUM

The World Youth Parliament for Water brings together young professionals and students from all over the world to advocate, raise the voice and actively contribute to the discussions regarding water challenges.
As a representative of the Netherlands and Colombia, I contributed as panellist on diverse topics such as transboundary cooperation and youth importance in the decision-making processes.

YOUTH FOR THE RHINE - LEADER OF FUNDRAISING AND PARTNERSHIP COMMITTEE (VOLUNTEER)
Rhine River Basin | MAR 2021- Present
Youth for the Rhine is a youth-led intended to motive young generations across the Rhine river Basin in thinking and addressing one of Europe's major societal issues: climate adaptation and diverse challenges related to water, food and energy.
My role in this project is to lead the fundraising and partnership committee by building connexions with the organizations and projects with similar aims to Youth for the Rhine, finding potential donors and fundraising campaigns, and working on events to increase networking and opportunities for the members of the project.

COLOMBIAN MEDIA - ARTICLE ABOUT MY TRAJECTORY IN THE WATER SECTOR

Ojo Publico is a media in Colombia which informs more than 1 million people in the department of Tolima South Colombia through radio and social media.

On the 27th of august, they wrote an article based on an interview that I had with them, talking about the steps I did to be in the position that I am, my trajectory as an engineer and Colombian, and how more Colombian can achieve their dreams abroad.
WORLD WATER WEEK PANELIST

The World Water Week is the world's leading conference on global water issues. During a week experts, professionals and people in the water sector are reunited to talk about challenges, innovative solutions, actions and collaborations.
In this opportunity, I had the honour to talk about Youth Engagement in the water sector, how young professionals can be involved in the solutions to the challenges that we face every day, participate in the formulation of public policies, and contribute to the big projects.

LIVING PEACE PROJECTS-DECENTRALISED WATER SUPPLY DESIGNER
Delft, The Netherlands | DEC 2020-FEB 2021
Living Peace Projects has as main objective to focus on education and healthy water. Education according to the virtues of the peace pledge is key, since young people are the future.
In this opportunity, I was in charge to design a rainwater harvesting system for schools in rural areas of India. In collaboration with a building engineer, we designed every component of the system to supply water meeting the standards of drinking water stipulated in WHO.

ORANGE KNOWLEDGE PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP
Delft, The Netherlands | 2019
OKP scholarships were fully-funded scholarships given by the Dutch Government to professionals coming from diverse countries such as Colombia.
I was awarded with a full-funded scholarship on two occasions, first to attend the Short course in Water Resources Planning at IHE Delft, and then, to do the Master in Science in Urban Water and Sanitation at IHE Delft.

EUROPEAN YOUTH PARLIAMENT FOR WATER-MEMBER
European Union | 2021
The European Youth Parliament for Water (EYPW) was launched by Solidarity Water Europe aiming to begin a youth network that takes action for water throughout Europe.
The European Youth Parliament for Water aims to promote youth involvement in the water sector by increasing their awareness of water resource management issues and by fostering an understanding of citizenship and democracy.
My role as a member of the EYPW has been mainly as a representative of youth in important events such as European Youth Event 2021 and Amsterdam International Water Week.
